Mission for proper vision
Samprathi Eye Hospital & Squint Center is a unique facility for treating childhood eye disorders & adult squint. Not only does it offer treatment for common childhood eye problems, it provides comprehensive evaluation and follow-up for children with simple or complex eye and/or vision disorders as well.
Children with Lazy eye, Lacrimal disorders, squint, inherited eye disease, and other eye conditions receive short-term treatment of the immediate problem as well as long-term rehabilitative care and monitoring of their visual development.
The center also specializes in the management of congenital and juvenile acquired cataracts, with emphasis on diagnosis, treatment and comprehensive follow-up, including monitoring vision development, preventing Amblyopia, fitting special pediatric contact lenses, and pediatric intraocular lens implantation.
Samprathi Eye Hospital & Squint Center is fully equipped with state of the art instruments necessary for diagnosis & treatment of eye problems. In addition, Samprathi Eye Hospital & Squint Center also specializes in the latest no injection, no stitch, no bandage technique for adult cataract surgeries (Phaco with foldable IOL). With a modern fully equipped operation theatre, these surgeries are done on day care basis.
Samprathi Eye Hospital & Squint center has obtained Entry level SHCO Accreditation by NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare providers), which means high quality of care & patient safety is ensured at all times.
Man behind the mission
Samprathi Eye Hospital & Squint Center has been set up by Dr Arun Samprathi, a Graduate from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, and postgraduate from Government Medical College, Mysore. He then went to the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital,Coimbatore& Madurai for senior residency and completed his D.N.B.(Ophthalmology).
He later did his training in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus (Squint) at Aravind Eye Hospital, to acquire skills required to examine and manage Pediatric eye diseases. Subsequently, he was trained in Squint surgeries at Liverpool, UK and passed FRCS (Edinburgh) exams in Ophthalmology in 2002.
Dr Samprathi relocated to Bangalore in April 2001 as the first Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Bangalore and is one of the few Pediatric Ophthalmologists & Squint specialists in Bangalore. Dr.Samprathi has performed over 50,000 Suture less cataract surgeries (including the latest technique of MICS / Phaco-emulsification & foldable IOL) for adult cataracts. He specializes in cataract surgery without injection or sutures or bandage, currently being done by very few surgeons in Bangalore.
He has been actively conducting educational programs for ophthalmologists, Pediatricians, General Physicians, school teachers as well as general public to spread the awareness about childhood eye diseases & squint. He has many publications to his name and has presented many papers.
